Summer is (almost officially) here, and what better time to consider making some upgrades to your pool? Investing in your backyard can extend your swim season, increase the value of your home, and you may be surprised to know, it could actually save you money! This week we’re taking a look at 3 upgrades that will have an impact and bring you more outdoor fun this year.
Upgrade your Pump
A pump upgrade can bring quiet performance and energy efficiency to every pool party!
Did you know that variable speed (or VS) pumps are around 80% – 90% less expensive to run than a single speed pump? As opposed to a single speed, a variable speed pump allows an operator to dial in just the right speed to get results without a negative impact on your energy bill. VS pumps are also famously very quiet and come with an internal timer, allowing you to “set it and forget it.” Our pool experts suggest running yours for a minimum of 12 hours each day to reduce algae and bacteria from forming in stagnant water.
Extend the Season
The average late spring nighttime temperature here in our neck of the woods is 46 degrees, which is FAR too cold (for most of us) to even laugh at the idea of taking a relaxing dip. Now imagine stepping out into that same chilly 46-degree night and into the 80-degree water of your heated pool! Living in the Northeast, it becomes evident in the late spring and early fall that investing in a heater for your pool is a worthy endeavor if you want to maximize swim season. While it’s unrealistic to think any heater could counteract those sub-zero February nights, they can definitely allow you to enjoy that wonderfully warm water on a chilly spring day or a crisp autumn night. Extend the season and make the most of your investment!
It’s not just a patio, it’s your backyard oasis, so outfit it accordingly. Durable furniture that fits your style and your space coupled with a fire table to gather around for those late-night conversations will make your house the place to be this summer. The weather is changing, the smell of spring is in the air, and after a long winter, your patio will soon, finally, spring back to life. You’re ready for it and we can help make sure that its ready for you. Check out our expert’s article 3 Tips for Buying New Patio Furniture or reach out to the team if you need some inspiration!
